Jones Family Update

I figured it was time for our yearly blog update and there has been quite a lot going on! First, Steve got accepted to law school :) I am so proud of him, he worked really hard and did so well on the LSAT. He got accepted to four schools, mostly in California, and was wait listed for a few more. Currently the plan is BYU (yay!!!), but he is still holding out for some of the other top schools that he got put on the wait list. One being his dream school, Georgetown, and his other top picks are Virginia and Northwestern. I have to say that I just hope we don't hear back from them lol. My dream school for him is BYU.

Steve will be finished with his Communications major in August, he is finishing up with internship with KSL this summer. He really enjoys that, he mostly writes stories and goes out to interview people. Sadly he won't ever be on air.

I am still working at Young Living in customer service, this is going to be my fifth year which is crazy! I moved over to the Live Chat/email team last October and it is soooooo much better. I love not being on the phones anymore. And starting this week, I will begin working from home! I am really excited about that. I will have to work the swing shift now, which will take some getting used to, since I have been working at 6 AM for last couple of years. I will miss the people I work with though, I work with fun people. But I am going to save so much on gas, and no more driving through the Utah County construction mess everyday makes me really happy.

In other news...
We are expecting our first baby October 14th :) This is my 18 weeks picture, I haven't been doing well so far with taking weekly progress pictures. This was right after a Sunday nap and Steve failed to inform me of my messy hair lol. We are so excited to be having a baby and October just seems too far away :)

We don't find out the sex until June 4th sadly. Steve doesn't really have a preference, but I kind of want a boy to be the oldest. My brother just had a baby boy last October and my little sister is having a girl in June, so either way our baby will have a same sex cousin to play with :) It has been fun being pregnant the same time as my little sis and getting advice and hand me down maternity clothes :)

I love being pregnant, but it hasn't been all fun so far. I have had really bad morning all-day sickness since about 5 weeks. I think I have eaten enough saltine crackers to last a lifetime! My doctor gave me a prescription to help and it was so awesome being able to eat again and keep everything down. There are some not-so-desirable side effects, so I haven't been taking it as much anymore. Hopefully I won't need to take it all soon. Other than that it hasn't been bad at all! Compared to my sis, I'm showing a little faster than she did; I am a little shorter than she is. I think it is kind of fun getting bigger lol.

We are finally moving to a new apartment in July, I am so excited! Our apartment now isn't terrible, but the management isn't the best at fixing things and we've been here for 3 years already. We are moving to Wymount, which is BYU housing. Steve wasn't too excited about that, but I think it will be fun. It will be two bedrooms and a little bigger than what we have now. It is really close to campus as well so Steve can ride his bike to class everyday.

This summer has been good so far. I went to Arches with my family a couple of weeks ago. It was super windy, but the hikes were fun. Steve's internship is every Friday and Saturday, which will make summer vacations impossible :( But we are going to plan at least one weekly trip so he can come.

Now that we are having a baby I will have to better at blogging and taking pictures :)

Lake Powell 2011

We just returned from spending a week in Lake Powell with Steve's parents and some of their friends. We also got to bring Steve's good friend Alex. We had a blast there just like last year. This year the weather was beautiful, but a little hot. One night there was a huge storm! It was really cool though and we loved watching all the lightening. I tried to get a picture, but failed :( I did get a couple good shots with videoing it. We did lots of swimming, wave running, tubing, and the boys used the wake board a ton. Steve was really glad Alex could come so that he would have someone to wake board with. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure I would not be able to get up and I'm a baby because it looks like it hurts when you crash. Tubing is more my thing, even though Steve did flip me one time. I lost his sunglasses when I fell in so I we are even now JK, it was actually pretty fun falling in. We are so grateful that we got to go again this year.

Unfortunate week...

I had a really crazy week! On Monday I had to leave work early and go to the doctor because my stomach was hurting soo bad. My stomach has hurt on and off for the last few months, but Monday was the worst ever and figured I should get it checked out. Well the doctor didn't know what was wrong and suggest I come in for a CT scan on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon they called to tell me that I have an ovarian cyst and that I need to see a gynecologist about it. I was just glad to find out what it was. Wednesday i was scheduled to finish my root canal with Steve's dad in Bountiful. I left right after work in Steve's car. I knew that the gas gauge was off, but it said I had a quarter tank left. There is a ton of construction by my work so didn't want to try to get to a gas station there and was going to get off the next exit to get gas.... Well I ran out before I got there!! I had to pull over and sit there for about a half hour in the burning hot sun. I thought it was something besides gas because that car has issues and the check engine is on a lot then will turn off randomly. Steve's brother in law was nice enough to come and give me gas, but I missed the dentist appointment :( and now have to go on Monday. On Thursday I got a call from the doctor again letting me know that they also found e. coli in my urine test. Hmm.. I wonder if it or the cyst was causing so mush pain?? So I went to get the prescription for it and they got it all messed up and had to wait about an hour! There is an other Kimberly Jones born in '86 that likes to use my same doctor and pick up prescriptions at he same place and same day too... so it causes problems quite a bit.

It was a very eventful week for sure. But now we are leaving for the Willden reunion in Beaver today! I'm excited and we are in charge this year. Ali came up with some Minute to Win It games that should be a lot of fun. So I think this weekend will make up for the bad beginning to a week :) I hope! I mean with Maria's salsa how can it be bad ?!

Vegas!!

One of my favorite parts of our trip!

We went to Vegas for our two year anniversary last week and it was awesome! We left Wednesday afternoon after I got off work and got there about ten. We just looked around our hotel that night mostly, we stayed at the Stratosphere. We were there for four days so we saw a lot while there. Since we were staying at the Stratosphere we could go up to the tower as often as we wanted to! They had really comfy couches up there so we just sat up there looking at the city for awhile, we went up there a couple of times.

Our hotel had a way fun pool so we went there for a day... it was so hot down there!!! We wanted to swim during our days and only go exploring at night ha, I don't like it when it is more that 100 degrees out personally.

Saturday was the funnest day there! We went to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings (our second time this trip), that place is so good! Then we went to the Luxor to see the Titanic artifact exhibition. I was so excited for this because my little sister, Ali, and I used to be OBSESSED with Titanic. Not just the movie either we knew all the facts about it and read tons of books. This same exhibit used to travel and it came to SLC like 6 years ago and I wanted to see it so bad, but ended up missing it. I was so bummed! When Ali told me she saw it in Vegas I just HAD to go. I loved it! They had recreations of the rooms and deck, a bunch of life stories from passengers, an ice burg, jewelry and dishes that were found at the bottom of the ocean, and the best part was the big piece! It was a huge piece of the ship that they brought up out of the ocean and they cleaned it off so it could be preserved. It had some portholes in it with the glass still there, I thought that was the coolest thing ever. It was so big, but was really only a teeny tiny part of the ship. Steve wasn't all that excited for it, but he loved it too.

Then we hung out at the Bellagio until "O" started. The Bellagio is way nice inside and out and a good place to people watch we found out ;) The we went to the show and it was AMAZING! I said wow like every few minutes through the whole show. The music was amazing and the performance was spectacular! It was mostly Steve who wanted to go to it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to since it would take most of our spending money for the trip, but holy cow it was definitely worth it. The video at the top is just a short clip of the swings. I seriously could have watched them do tricks on it all night. They also had this flying boat type thing that they would do acrobat/gymnastic stuff and that was way fun to see. They had some contortionists too and they were kinda creepy... people should not be able to bend like that!

After "O" we went to a comedy hypnotist in Planet Hollywood. Steve went up to see if he could be hypnotized and was unsuccessful. There were definitely people who it did work on though and they did some crazy things. I have always wanted to see if I could be hypnotized, but don't want to make a fool of myself so I will never try it. We left Sunday morning and stopped at the St. George temple on the way since we both had never been there before. It was very pretty and had a lot of visitors. I told Steve that I want to start going to a different temple every year so I can see all the ones in Utah.

I just love summertime and all the fun trips we get to take together. These two years have flown by for me and are the funnest times I have had in my life. I am looking forward to all the adventures we are going to have together in the years to come :)

Summer 2011

I have been horrible at blogging. I wanted to write down what we have done this summer so far, but it has been a few months now so the details won't be that great.
This summer has been a lot of fun! Steve and I went up to my parents' almost every weekend it seems like. We watched Ave & Pais play soccer and their dance recital too. We wanted to go up a lot because Melissa is moving to Florida :(
For memorial day we went to Bryce Canyon with my parents, Melissa's family (minus Beau), Layne's family, and Ali's. It was great fun and the weather was perfect for hiking. It was really beautiful and one of my favorite places to go camping, especially with my parents' new trailer! Steve and I did sleep in the tent though and almost got blown away a few nights. The trip was a little bittersweet because it was the last camping trip we would have with Melissa before they move. It was awesome though that all of our family was able to be there. I loved playing with my nieces and nephew, they are so fun.

We also went camping in Kamas at camper world with my parents, Ali & Tage, and Layne's family. That place was awesome! Aubree's dad has a membership there and it was high class camping I'm telling ya lol. There was a pool, a clubhouse with a bunch of games, grass in front of your trailer, and a fire pit not in the ground. It was one of my favorite trips, it's a very relaxing place. We also brought out my parents' four-wheelers for the first time this year. Halle was not a fan of them. But she allowed me to take her on a ride and she liked it, I guess she just needed a better driver :)
My family went to Yellow Stone also, but I had to work and missed out :( We have a few more fun trips planned for the summer though! We are going to Las Vegas for our anniversary, a Willden reunion in Beaver, and Lake Powell for a week! I'll be sure to post right after each this time.

Schools out forever...

For me anyway... and not forever I hope just for a few years until Steve is done. Finished my last final yesterday night. I officially have an Associates... better than nothing I suppose. Steve is finishing his right now.
We can't wait for Christmas next week! Work for me has been unbelievably busy and I need a break. I am very excited to spend a few days with just Steve and family.

Happy Holidays :)

We had a great Thanksgiving this year... two great Thanksgivings actually.
Wednesday night we went up to Roy to celebrate my dad's 61st birthday! He is getting up there ha ha. We had a great time together and the whole family was there. We had some yummy lasagna and banana cream pie. I love my dad so much, he does so much for us. He is an awesome Dad and Grandpa and I always look up to him.
On Thanksgiving day we went to the Wards' house to celebrate. We of course had way yummy food. Ali and I were in charge of a relish tray... yes!! It was rather strange though because there were no little kids running around. It was kind of nice in a way lol, but I missed Melissa and her family. We were able to play a lot of games afterward like our family favorite Liverpool, Ticket To Ride, and Family Feud (Willden family were the winners!). Then we were extra lucky and had our second Thanksgiving Friday with the Joneses.
Saturday I went to a Mary Kay party with my sisters that Ali won online. It was fun and I couldn't resist buying a few things. Then we sadly came back home to Provo.
Then we happily woke up to snow!! It was so pretty I loved it. After church we put up our tree and decorations. I just love Christmas. Our tree is very pretty and all of it is hand me down ornaments plus the tree too. Sadly the top lights don't work but I still love it! We also got to have a delicious Sunday dinner at Grandma Lorna's, she is the best cook.
Happy Holidays everyone :)
